Preparing for a new painting (series)
I mentioned in March that I was to paint a series of portraits of my boyfriend Vlady. I got a great photo in July of him about to each an octopus at a Chinese buffet. Today I started by drawing an outline sketch of the photo freehand:
Next, I drew a grid on the 24″ x 24″ canvas and worked again from the photo to lay out all the basic outlines in pencil. I’ll get photos as the painting progresses and I may post some of them here.
